Battery-Tec is a family owned business which was formed in 2012 by Clinton Barclay and his father Peter Barclay. Battery-Tec is based in Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast in South Africa. We have a highly-skilled and qualified team with over 50 years experience in the Electrical and Renewable Energy industries. We have partnered with some top brands in the solar, battery and leisure industry to ensure we offer the best quality and reliability to our customers.
A qualified electrician by trade, with many years experience in industrial & residential electrical installations. He found his passion in solar energy, helping customers to design and install systems to make their energy-usage more efficient. Clint has a hands-on approach and is actively involved in the design & installation of systems supplied by Battery-Tec .
If you need to know where something is, ask Sonja! She manages all of our accounts, billing, ordering and administrative functions. Her background in book-keeping and accounts management keeps things running smoothly and keeps the team updated on scheduling, stock and orders. Her organisational skills ensure our team is always properly equipped.
Calvin has several years' experience in the electrical and solar sectors. His passion for high standards of installation as well as his eye for detail makes him our lead electrician for residential, commercial and agricultural solar installations. Calvin co-ordinates our installation teams on active and upcoming projects and adds valuable insight into system designs and performance.
Paul ahs many years' experience in the sales representative sector and is an integral part of our customer service and sales team. Paul is passionate about finding the right solution for our customers and is experienced in all facets of our range from solar, batteries, UPS, chargers, leisure and golf solutions. He's known for his technical knowledge and high standards of service.
IN MEMORY – Peter co-founded Battery-Tec alongside his son Clinton in 2012. Peter had many years’ experience in the manufacturing and customer service sectors. His passion for renewable energy and cutting-edge technology was visible in his commitment to the solar energy industry. Peter was a committed team member involved with business strategy and corporate relations, dealing with Battery-Tec’ s larger corporate and leisure customers. His leadership and founding principles live on in Battery-Tec’s belief in helping more people access renewable energy.
